| dc.description.abstract | During the year 2018 AHRI has continued to move forward with the focus of achieving its strategic objectives and ensuring the contribution towards its broader mission of improving medical care, health and well-being of the public by generating scientific evidence. The research and innovation activities have been focused primarily on addressing the identified public health priority needs of the country and in line with the plan to achieve global health sustainable development goals (SDGs). This year, a total of 66 research projects have been either completed or ongoing and 50 were published in international and local peer-reviewed journals. The institute provided research support to 51 Ph.D. and 16 MSc postgraduate students from local and international partner universities.
