HIV related estimates and projections in Ethiopia for the year 2024-2025

Abstract

The Ethiopian Public Health Institute (EPHI) leads the national annual HIV estimation and projection process in coordination with the Ministry of Health (MoH). This process aims to assess the current status, trends, and impact of the HIV epidemic in Ethiopia at national and regional levels. Key indicator outputs include HIV prevalence, incidence, the number of people living with HIV (PLHIV), new infections, AIDS-related deaths, treatment cascade, and the outcomes of prevention programs (e.g., mother-to-child transmission).
