The National One Health Five-Year
Strategic Plan (2025/26–2029/30)
outlines a comprehensive roadmap to
address the critical health threats at
the human-animal-plant-environment
interface. It seeks to enhance Ethiopia’s
capacity to prevent, detect, and respond
to endemic, emerging, and re-emerging
zoonotic diseases and invasive species,
vector-borne and neglected tropical dis-
eases; antimicrobial resistance (AMR),
food safety risks, and environmental
health hazards. By fostering multisec-
toral collaboration, evidence-informed
decision-making, and community-driven
initiatives, the strategic plan envisions
achieving optimal health for humans,
animals, plants, and ecosystems through
a unified One Health approach. |
