dc.description.abstract Malnutrition continues to be a major public health problem in developing countries. It is the most important risk factor for the burden of diseases. In Ethiopia, child malnutrition is one of the most serious public health problems. High malnutrition in the country poses a significant obstacle to achieving better child health outcomes. Objective: To assess magnitude of stunting and its associated factors with in children aged 6-59 months at Mecha district, Northwest Ethiopia, 2014 Methods: A community based cross sectional study will be conducted on 605 children aged 6-59 months from July1-20 /2014 Mecha district. Multistage sampling method will be used to select households. Children will be selected from each kebeles by simple random sampling. Anthropometric measurements and structured questioners will be used. Data will be processed using EPi-info soft ware and exported to SPSS for analysis. Bivariate and multivariate logistic regressions will be used to identify associated factors of stunting. Period February/ 2014-January /2015 Total budget: The total cost of the research project will be 28,774.9 Ethiopian Birr. en_US
