dc.description.abstract Background: Advanced maternal age is defined as women who are 35 years or older at estimated date of delivery. Pregnancy in older individuals is associated with increased risks of adverse pregnancy outcomes. This research aims to investigate and analyze the potential obstetric adverse outcomes associated with advanced maternal age, contributing valuable insights to maternal healthcare practices. Objective: To determine association between advanced maternal age pregnancy with adverse Obstetrics outcomes in Gandhi memorial hospital Method: A chart review comparative cross-sectional study was employed in Gandhi memorial hospital among 363 mothers and selected using simple random sampling techniques. Data was collected from their medical records using a pretested and structured checklist. After the data was collected, it was cleaned, coded and entered into Epi info version 7.2 then it was exported to SPSS versions 25. Descriptive statistics such as frequencies, cross-tabulations and means were done. Bivariate and multivariate logistic regression analyses were done to identify associated factors. Odds ratio with 95% confidence level were determined and variables with p–value of < 0.05 were considered as statistically significant. Result- Adverse obstetric outcomes like Pregnancy induced hypertension [AOR 2.871 95%CI (1.4615.643)],Antepartumhemorrhage[AOR4.27895%CI(1.77610.307),postpartumhemorrhage[AOR3.45195%CI(1.286-9.260)] and caesarian delivery[AOR 95%CI(1.726(1.015-2.936)] were significantly associated with advanced maternal age. Conclusion and recommendation - the findings of this study underscore the significant association between advanced maternal age and adverse obstetric outcomes like Pregnancy induced hypertension, Antepartum hemorrhage and postpartum hemorrhage. These results underscore the importance of tailored antenatal care and interventions for women of advanced maternal age to mitigate the increased risks associated with these outcomes.
