dc.description.abstract Ethiopia is engaged in a rapid and comprehensive development schemes to transition from poverty to sustainable and reliable growth and prosperity. The Government has therefore invested heavily in health system strengthening guided by its pro-poor policies and strategies, in the past two decades, resulting in significant gains in improving the health status of the Ethiopian population. Although remarkable progresses and gains have been observed following the earlier HSDP plans and Health Sector Transformation Plans (HSTP), the country is still facing a triple burden of diseases consisting of communicable diseases, non-communicable diseases and injuries. en_US
