Background: Repeated induced abortion is a public health concern both in the developing and developed world. Despite the advances in modern health care, maternal morbidity and mortality remain a major problem in Ethiopia. Repeatedly induced abortion is indispensable to challenge this problem. Even though the adverse effects on health, a significant proportion of Ethiopian women procure more than one abortion during their reproductive lifetime. Repeat induced abortion is an indicator of a larger problem of unmet family planning and unintended pregnancy. Objective: To assess the prevalence of repeated induced abortion and its associated factors among reproductive-age women who seek abortion services in Hawassa City public health institutions, Sidama regional state, South Ethiopia, 2020. Methods: Institution based cross-sectional study design was employed from July 8 to September 8, 2020, at Hawassa City public health institutions, Sidama region, South Ethiopia. A systematic random sampling technique was used and 410 women were included in the study. Data were collected using pre-tested and semi-structured interviewer-administered questionnaires. The collected data coded and entered into EpiData Version 3.1.0 and exported to SPSS version 20 for analysis. Variables with a p-value of <0.25 in binary logistic regressions were exported into multivariate logistic regression analysis. Finally, variables with a p-value of < 0.05 in the multivariate logistic regression analysis were used to declare statistical significance. Results: This study shows that the prevalence of repeated induced abortion was 35.4 %( 95% confidence interval; 30.7- 40). Women who had two and more partners in the last 12 preceding months (AOR=4.38, 95%CI; 2.62-7.35), perceiving abortion procedure as it was not painful (AOR = 2.18, 95% CI; 1.27-3.74), sexual debut before 18 years (AOR = 3.48, 95%CI; 2.03- 5.96), and consuming alcohol (AOR=4.47, 95%CI; 2.63-7.57) have higher odds of repeated induced abortion. Conclusion and recommendation: The prevalence of repeated induced abortion in Hawassa city was high when compared with the previous studies done in other parts of Ethiopia. Hawassa city health administration should give attention to factors those increasing the rate of repeated induced abortion, which include; perceived abortion procedure as it was not painful, multiple sexual partners, sexual debut before the age of 18, and alcohol consumption
