Background: Cardiovascular disease is the most common complication and the leading cause of death among patients with diabetes mellitus. Individuals with type 2 diabetes mellitus [T2DM] have an increased risk for cardiovascular disease compared to others without diabetes. However, the evidence regarding the magnitude of cardiovascular disease among T2DM patients and associated factors is limited. |
