Abstract:
The national comprehensive guidelines for prevention, screening, diagnosis, treat ment and care for non-communicable diseases (NCDs) is one among many of
the efforts to lead to the implementation of interventions to reduce the increasing
burden of non-communicable diseases (NCDs) in Ethiopia. The national NCDs
framework was developed in 2010 for selected NCDs: diabetes, cardiovascular
diseases, respiratory diseases, chronic kidney diseases and cancer, prioritized on
the basis of the WHO 2011 and global morbidity report (Abegunde D. O, The
Lancet 2007).Following this, the national plan of action for NCDs prevention and
control was drafted in late 2013
