| dc.description.abstract | On 30 January 2020, World Health Organization (WHO) declared the outbreak due to a novel coronavirus, severe acute respiratory syndrome corona virus 2 (SARS-CoV-2), also known as COVID-19, as a public health emergency of international concern (PHEIC). It was first reported to WHO on December 31, 2019. By 12 March 2020, due to its rapid global spread, the outbreak was declared a pandemic. As of September 21, 2021, the pandemic has already caused the loss of more than 4.6 million lives. The world is employing different strategies to tackle the pandemic. | en_US |
