Abstract:
For the last five years the Federal Ministry of Health (FMOH) has been implementing Saving
Lives through Safe Surgery (SaLTS) as a national flagship initiative designed to improve access
to safe, essential and emergency surgical and anesthesia care across all levels of the healthcare
system. The pillars of this initiatives are designed in a way to address surgical access and quality
issues by implementing surgical efficiency projects and new innovative methods which can be
implanted in our setup and can bring a more efficient and equitable surgical care system in to
practice.
