<description>Health and biomedical research partnership strategics document, 2025-2035
Armauer Hansen Research Institute
Haramaya University and Armauer Hansen Research Institute run a joint PhD training program&#13;
for a decade. This strategic document is developed by the joint team to direct the Haramaya&#13;
University (HU) - Armauer Hansen research Institute (AHRI) partnership to a higher Health and&#13;
Biomedical Research partnership. The document was initially drafted by the joint team, shared&#13;
with several larger groups including senior officials, and planners to collect feedback, and&#13;
revised, refined and finalized based on the given comments. The strategic document aims at a&#13;
higher-level transformation from the previous partnership, creating a holistic collaboration&#13;
between the two institutions, focusing on Health and Biomedical Research.

<title>Roadmap for medical device research and development and local productions(2026-2031)</title>
<link>http://repository.iphce.org/xmlui/handle/123456789/5383</link>
<description>Roadmap for medical device research and development and local productions(2026-2031)
Armauer Hansen Research Institute
Low- and middle-income countries (LMICs) account for approximately 80% of the global&#13;
population yet only 20% of worldwide healthcare expenditure. This disparity highlights critical&#13;
healthcare challenges in Healthcare services, particularly in the availability and functionality of&#13;
essential medical devices. Ethiopia, like many Sub-Saharan African nations, faces significant&#13;
shortages, with over 90% of medical devices imported, often leading to issues with counterfeit&#13;
products and equipment that remains non-functional due to inadequate maintenance and a&#13;
shortage of skilled workforce.
